TRAINING DESCRIPTION: This training provides an interdisciplinary perspective on the development of young children; speakers include a psychologist, occupational therapist, and speech-language pathologist. The training provides an overview of developmental milestones from age 0 – 5, conceptual frameworks that guide understanding of the multiple influences on early development and strategies for addressing developmental progress, risks, and problems. Participants will increase their knowledge in identifying typical and atypical development and the need for timely developmental assessments and interventions. Information is included about engaging caregivers in assessment and treatment for developmental challenges, and methods of intervention geared toward supporting development.
